Bazm-e-Urdu, Dubai has established three regular awards beside several other honors. These awards have been instated to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts made by scholars and other personalities to elevate the status of Urdu and promote Urdu language globally – at an individual level or at organisational level. These awards also aim to enhance the importance of Urdu and its cultural relevance to the general public. There are three kinds of awards conferred by Bazm-e-Urdu, Dubai:
Josh-e-Urdu Award is usually presented to an eminent Urdu Scholar who would have made huge contributions to Urdu literature by his writings and whose standing in Urdu literary circles would be an acceptable fact. Our past awardees have been:

Alamdar-e-Urdu Award is usually presented to those personalities who could be non-scholars of Urdu but their contribution to Urdu has been exemplary and has gone a long way in promoting Urdu in different ways.
